When should you keep a secret?
What should you NOT keep secret?
I mean, what if you have information that could help a friend, BUT telling them would break the confidence of another ... WHAT THEN?
or how about if you know your friend's daughter is behaving WAY TO GROWN UP (I MEAN C'mon she's just a 7th grader)
AND she just recieved a PDA (PUBLIC DISPLAY OF
AFFECTION) at school. but you know this was just the one time she got caught... what then???

YOU SHOULD KEEP A SECRET WHEN ASKED TO NOT TELL.
YOU SHOULDN'T KEEP A SECRET IF THE INFORMATION YOU HAVE IS AGAINST THE LAW.
SAY LIKE A CHILD HAS BEEN MOLESTED.
AS FAR AS THE 7TH GRADER... KEEP OUT OF HER BIZ.
ITS THE PARENT'S RESPONSIBILITY, NOT YOURS.
LET EM REAP WHAT THEY'VE BEEN SOWING.

If someone tells you something in confidence then I would not tell, unless there are legal matters involved like sy said... a child that has been molested. I would definately tell.
Once I had a friend who was going to leave her abusive boyfriend and she asked me not to tell him where she was going. He would follow her. I was afraid for her, I loved her, I did not want him to hurt her any more. This I believe was an important secret to keep. I did NOT tell him and she slipped away safe. Thank GOD.
For the situation being my friend's child, I wouldn't consider that a secret. I saw something happen that concerns me, that would concern her parents. I would share it with them. As friends, we help each other. I would want the same.
SECRETS.
I HAVE MINE. YOU HAVE YUORS.
I SUPPOSE IT IS SITUATIONAL.
I PREFER TO KNOW NOTHING I DON'T.
AS FAR AS THE 7TH GRADER, I FIGURE THE CHILD IS GOING TO ACT ACCORDING TO WHAT HER PARENTS HAVE TRAINED HER TO, SO WHAT DOES IT MATTER IF THEY FIND OUT FROM ME.
MOST LIKELY THEY WILL END UP GETTING MAD AT ME.
NO THANKS.
i don't like the word, secret. i feel all kinds of bad vibes from the word.
i have recently been in situations where i had information that i wasn't free to share and i gotta tell ya ... i don't like it.
when something illegal is happening or has happened... and the threat is still there... well then i think i would inform local authorities.
as for my friend's 7th grader, i feel, if they want help, they'll ask... if not, sorry.
I agree I do not like secrets. When you can not be open with people then you are not building relationships. If someone tells you something then YOU SHOULD expect that it might get leaked out to other people. When someone tells me something in confidence I do keep it to myself. I tell other people who might want to know to go to them. But I do understand when I tell my inner circle of friends something then I expect the whole inner circle of friends to know.
When one person is relied on to hold too many secrets for people then he/she must have a release otherwise they are setting themselves up for failure. One person can not keep everybody's secret without help from other people.
i'm curious...
is there a better word than "secret"?
can anyone think of a better word that maybe doesn't sound bad when you say i know a secret...
help help.
I think if you say that you know some personal information.
personal info, huh?
sounds like a winner to me, thanksgiving buddy
i hate secrets.
people have kept stuff from me. it really hurts.
then when you find out that your friend knew...oooooh, that burns even worse.
Keep the secrets that will get you in trouble. Tell the ones that won't. Seems like a workable strategy for me.
Hey Savannah. Wassup girl? You have a lot to say but all I hear is blah, blah, blah. Get to the heart of it would you!
