This past weekend during volleyball playoffs, i found myself wanting to challenge the integrity and accuracy of the REF.
I felt he wasn't be fair to us. Then i heard a voice in my head ... sounded like JESUS' voice ... and HE said , "shhh, I AM your Defender."
from this moment on i kept my shut, btw i never said anything to the REF...
THE LORD IS MY DEFENDER.... how about you?
Do you allow HIM to represent you too?
OR do you have to PROVE you're RIGHT?

my friend shared with me some terrible things his bride said to him. pretty harsh stuff. however, he decided not to defend himself. early the NEXT morning, she apologized.
he said, in the past , he would've told her how wrong she was.
WOW. he proved JESUS was his defender
Fellow bloggers Sam and I were talking and i feel that we as the tribe are being attacked spirtualy we must be on the right track because our enemy is bringing out all the stops. Hold fast on God's word and remeber that the war is already won we just need to keep gaing ground till the return of the KING
super words, frodo.
i agree, we must not retreat.
our HERO, fights for us, we must stand with Him.
we also ought to expect more pain
I believe we have growna lot in just the few months I have been with tribalinc. I am grateful to Miguel for the invite. Without the invite I would not have met all of these wonderful people. Thanks to you all.
you are most welcome, john.
thetribe feels the same about you.
for us, we believe "A Win" is seeing lifechange and on a consistent basis...
keepitup, bruther.
Speaking as a sporting official of many sports and as a spectator, yes it is hard to not speak up if you feel that your team is being cheated by an official. From my experience being on the court the past 13 years, comments that I have heard and some of the things that go on during youth sports just amazes me to know end. All I do is laugh to myself and smile when I hear people yelling and acting like fools in front of thier family and children! 90% of the time the ones yelling have more than likely never read a rule book and understand why somethings are called and do not understand the intent of the rule. I have learned over the years to let the lord handle those kinds of situations and not help provoke the situations. When I was younger, I used to always try to find who was yelling the comments, catch eye contact, and then shake my head! That was my way of letting that person know that they were wrong and my call was right. Now, I just ignore it, laugh, and go on living life. No grudges and no confontational conversations after the contest. Absolutely, I make bad calls all the time and do not try to justify myself to be correct. The only person I even communicate with is my co-official or the coach of the team that the bad call was against. Coaches respect officials that will admitt when they are wrong and do not try to prove that they are right!!! I did that when I was younger but not anymore. I have learned to be a bigger man and a better person when it comes to things like this! I know when my kids start playing sports, I will not be that parent in the stands making a fool out of myself and embarrasing my child! When I am confronted by spectators and they try to tell me how to call or whatever, I treat them with kindness and just inform them that that was what I saw from my angle, so that is what I called. Spectators see things different, coaches see things different, and of course officials see things different. If I was wrong, I was wrong. Learn from it and move on. Just like Jordan said, when you fail the more you succeed!!! The lord has helped me with that in Isaiah 40:31, "but those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint."
Be a bigger person and support everyone. My philosophy is, if you don't like the call, get you some stripes and come join us. We can always use more officials!!!
Thanks Miguel for talking to me at the game Friday night. I have missed this website and all of you. When I am done with my job training, I will attend one the guys night out! Plus I know you have missed my comments! LOL
God bless!!!
we hope you do stop by theSHACK, and check us out.
as for your comment. i like several points.
the funniest has to be the "get you some stripes and come join us."
having different angles really brings it down to the bottom shelf for me. it makes these situations much easier to see.
i am impressed with your maturity over time. so desparately we, as christ followers need this type of testimony.
so thanksgiving to ya, bruther.
hope to read more from ya later.
do we trust God? i mean really trust HIM to stand up for us? What if HE decides not to?
will we then take it upon ourselves to grab the microphone and shout it out?
i guess i've been grabbing the microphone out of JESUS' hand. i want to be heard, i want to be the man, i want to be the hero.
lots of i wants, huh?
this is me. i am often a train wreck. but i'm still fighting to follow my HERO.
tonight i wanted to defend myself in a big way.
my bruther. my bruther launched what felt like an assualt on my bride.
unfair it seems.
but because i was texting, i had time to delete the sentence i was about to send.
i was able to regroup and stay focused on the issue at hand.
praise God, for the ability to delete before hitting the SEND key.
I think I have defend my rights, or nobody else will. Yeah I get the whole Jesus thingy, but i doubt I can just trust HE will make my opponent apologize all of a sudden.
sy
sy, we are glad you've decided to dump your truck on us.
we love to know somebody isn't afraid to say it like it is.
i'm not saying we all agree, but i admire you for speaking up.
however, i gotta say, i am one of those who FIRMLY believe in what you called the JESUS THINGY.
i follow HIM. Because i do, i try to allow Him TO FIGHT MY FIGHTS.
this past few days, i have found myself in situations where i WANNA defend my motives, my reasons, and myself.
but i have to RESET THE MECHANISM and remember Jesus will do this for me. He is my defender.
