What is #1 reason kids don't listen to mom and dad?

You've seen the "moments". you're at the grocery store and a kid throws a tantrum. You catch a teenager rolling their eyes as dad says, "No, you're not gonna wear that." ETC, ETC... so in your opinion why does this happen?
BONUS: who's more to blame, the kiddo or the parent?

Frodo here,
I think this happens because it is born into us. what I mean is we are all born with a sin nature. you can train kids and animals to do what you want them to do but they both have there own personality. people are individuals animals are the same. kids learn from just living. in school home tv everywhere. all we can do is to train them with the best intentions. but they have free will how many times does a adult( a christ centered )disobey? telling someone no or refusing to do what is asked or rolling eyes at another. we as a people are imperfect due to sin. why should we expect our children to be. all we can do is to try to raise them in a loving enviroment and a christ centered home. if you train your children like christ trains us. you got a better head start than most parents. to answer the question whos fault. do we always obey God our father and spiritual parent. then why should we be suprised when our kids disobey. So i would have to blame the parents for setting a bad example.

I agree with Frodo, it is the parents fault for not being the example. But we as parents HAVE to be strong enough to make the kids behave in a manner that is respectful to not only the parents but to GOD. We as parents have to be more consistant and not tell the kids to do something and then when they don't let them get away with it.
I know when I grew up if I did not do something my mom would tell me I would have to face dad's rath. Also we should make the kids accountable for their actions, if we DON'T them how are we going to be accounable for their actions when they become adults??

This happens because kids no longer respect authority. The blame lies squarely on the parents doorstep.
THATS ALL I GOTTA SAY ABOUT THAT

i wonder how far up the family tree one would have to go to find when poor parenting skills began to be passed down.
