why do Christ followers not regularly read the bible? also why don't many attend regularly? basically why do many Christ followers take God lightly in these two areas?

I feel that people dont take God serious. I dont think that they really belive that he is who he says he is. If they do belive Then they use him as a Genie grant me this or that. or like a superhero. please dont let soandso die please heal this person that person please fix this or that in my life. God is the creator of the universe. he created us. he could easily wipe us out with a word or thought. He chooses to keep us for his glory but we deserve nothing but death.We treat God like a politician. we will vote for you IF you do this or that. We treat God lke a parent. I dont need your help until i ask for it and it is your responibility to help me. That is why we dont treat God with respest and honor. That is why we only call on him in crisis. that is why we as a people are a poor excuse for heirs to the kingdom. We are not even worthy to watch over the dung heap.
Here is a famous last saying--I will make it right with GOD later. We do not need to do that!!! We should make it right now and not wait. HE know that we will screw it up, but HE wants us to make it right, either by asking for forgiviness and repenting, or making it right with the person you offended. GOD deserves our full attention and HE wants to be apart of our lives at every oppurtunity we need him. But GOD also wants us to praise HIM and give HIM the glory when hHE answers our prayers
i don't take God serious because i like to sit on the throne in my heart. i basically kick Jesus to the curb. i don't read regularly most times cause i'm a PRIORity and HE'S not. i take HIM lightly because i forgot how cheap i really am.
Now a days people would rather have the luxaries of life than really trust God! People are to into the politics of the of the church rather than the word of God!!! It's all about the people you know rather than the one you should know!!!
JB I hope that you keep working being more like CHRIST. When there is temptation out in hte world, but having to be accountable for it makes it easier for you to resist the temptation. You might ask what do I mean, WELL i am talking about having a group of men or a person who you have to answer to for your actions. This might not be a good way for you but it has helped me become closer with HIM and my walk with HIM. RF

i know my walk has taken an incredible parallel to jesus. i'm not close, but i am walking in the same direction.
I am not as close as I want to be but I am working my butt off to get there the best I can!!!
