Seperated

Are you seperated from Christ when you willing commit a sin? Example: going out and drinking then going to church on Sunday Morning to ask for forgivness, or using curse words instead of other words that can get the same meaning across and blaming it on the people you are around.

The term 'separated' is a bit ambiguous. However; I will assume this being a quasi-Baptist website that you are not refering to the thought process that someone can lose their salvation. This being said, many Christians have forgotten that light and darkness CANNOT coexist. We are indeed the bride of Christ, and as such we belong to him. When a man cheats on his wife, or she cheats on him, it does not dissolve the marriage, though it does create a rift. In the same way when we 'cheat' on Christ, if you will, a rift is created. We know the only way to fix this rift is through repentance i.e. applying the blood of Christ to the situation. When we come to Christ and begin to seek Him, His light will begin to expose that evil within us which had formerly been hidden in darkness. It is the will of God that we no longer walk in darkness, but remain in the light(John 8:12). It is the will of Satan that we revert back to walking in darkness. As the deciever he tries to make us believe that it is only natural for us to sin. Therefore why fight it if we are destined to fail anyway. Don't misunderstand me, even the most devout follower of Christ will at some point probably blow it. I am referring to a Christian that is so lazy in their walk that they willingly sin rather than fight through temptation. The Bible says resist the Devil and he will flee from you(James 4:7). For some, this requires too much effort. Rather than fight against him, they throw up their hands and give in. Why not? It's gonna happen anyway right? It's the natural state of mankind. BUT... What about the supernatural? As Christians we are no longer bound to the dictates of this world. The Light has been revealed to us, and we are supernaturally joined with it. Therefore we no longer have reason to sin unless we are deceived by the Devil. Sadly many Christians fall for his deception. America has become a culture of compromise and this culture has sneaked its way into modern Christianity. We have become complacent and satisfied with living lives of compromise. Instead of walking in the power and authority given to us as a child of God, we try walking in our own power and then wonder why we fail. Though we remain a Christian, we have by our actions separated ourselves from the will of God for our lives and therefore our spiritual destiny in Him. We set aside what God has intended and replace it with our own desires. Oh that his people would come back to Him and truly seek the heart of God.

incredible response.
wow.
thanksgiving to the anonymous who replied before me.

i guess i'd lean towards "NO" as far as separation. let me explain, sin separates us from GOD. But thru JESUS, our SIN DEBT has been paid for. we , thru faith, recieve HIS gift, and are then reconciled to the ALMIGHTY FATHER.
i guess if the question's intent deals with proximity, then yeah, we are separated.
otherwise, we're still his kid, we are just in line for HIS DISCIPLINE.
